I've had a fire burning in my belly for decades. The call to build a business that brings together my love for tech with meaning and legacy. And when it comes down to it, I want to work on what I want to work on.
I know so many guys who have the same desire. To build something meaningful. To get away from the 9-5. To create legacy for their name and their family. To do hard work, and be rewarded plentifully.
But on the path to our dreams, we gotta balance the spinning plates of our lives... producing income, raising children, spending time with loved ones, and managing our health. It's all so distracting 😂
I say that jokingly, but we all feel that tension. And if you're reading this, I believe you're led by a mission as well to break free.
So, how do YOU do it? How do you manage all the areas in your life, while pursing the mission of a lifetime?
Got any tips for the rest of us?

Once you get past it being fun, to it being wanted, to it being needed, to just being painful, to I'm a sick person and can't stop, to the part of me that I loved the most died in the journey and yet I'm still here. Then I think you might have found a foundation where it just doesn't matter anymore it's just what you're doing. You'll know when you're there if you do more selling and finding customers than any other aspect.

I find that the “word” balance implies continuously making choices between one side of the scale versus the other side of the scale where one side of the scale is family, love, relationships and self-care, and the other side of the scale is work, responsibilities, and income, then subconsciously, and consciously at times, we experience a tension and frustration of having to constantly choose where to place our time, energy and resources - on one side of the scale or the other side. I tend to change the narrative in my head and to think in terms of “harmony” (albeit it is easier said than done in practical application), and I try to harmonize my time and energy between relationships, family, work, and responsibilities. Harmonizing means I follow the flow and I don’t try to force anything at any time. Obviously there are times I need to be at work, and times I need to be home, but I try to use the other time to invest in where my energy is pulling me. I am still trying to build something big, to build something great, to build something of value to others, and build something that would leave a legacy and benefit for those I love. I’m still doing all of that, but it just comes in pockets of time and energy as I follow the flow. When my energy is drawn towards my family, I give them love and support and time. When my energy is directed towards work and responsibilities, I do those things, of course, to pay the bills. But I find pockets of time where I focus on the big projects, the big ideas, the writing, the creating, the designing, and the coaching. I think it’s too easy to say we’ll just manage time better or time block - to me that’s not harmonizing life, that’s always being forced to choose one activity or another. For me, I think it’s all about trying to find the harmony and I think that’s individualized to each person and there’s not a prescriptive way to do this better.
