It’s somehow indicative of unseen blessings soon to arrive.
Well, I was shat on a few weeks ago. I kinda got excited, standing there on the street corner, looking down at the soiled sleeve of my white hoodie. I did that weird thing you gotta do when something challenging happens, and see it as a positive.
I proceeded with my week. I got shit on a couple more times...
• Car door handle randomly broke, requiring me to roll down my window to exit the vehicle.
• While getting an estimate for that, car repair shop says I have about $5k of other repair work to do as well.
• Dog had an abscess burst, requiring emergency surgery.
I could go on, there are more. But I don’t want to be a downer. Because here’s the thing… as I move through each one of these experiences, I realize it’s not the end of the world, I have the capacity to deal with it, and it feels like this is the pull-back before the release.
To see the random f-ing things that happen in life as God’s creative acts to shake me out of my seriousness, and remind me I’m surrounded by unseen blessings, just waiting for the perfect time to be revealed (usually when I’m ready).
So what do I do in the mean time?
• When I have to roll down my car window to get out, I thank this pause, and the humbling act of reaching to the outside the door.
• I don’t try to solve problems I can’t solve right now, while having faith it will probably work itself out at the right time.
• I love on my dog, and every new vet bill that comes along. I’m grateful I can pay, and I’m probably overly excited to do it.
This is all an intuitive conversation with the Universe. I know my excitement to get shit on by a bird is… a bit much. But the ONE thing we can consistently control is our perspective.
Each positive reframe is a chance to ease my nervous system some stress, and thank the Universe for all my blessings, seen and unseen.
Question… what’s a baller reframe you’ve made recently?
I wanna know.
